L'Estartit will host more than 700 swimmers in a new edition of the Neda el Món per la Marató de TV3

Previous edition of Neda el Món (Photo Thuat Studio)L’Estartit will host the 13th edition of the Medes Islands World Swim for the TV3 Marathon on May 8 at 9am. A charity event born in 2010 that takes place in the Montgrí and Medes Islands Natural Park and that allocates 100% of its profits to the Televisió de Catalunya charity program.

Neda el Món has three distances: The long one, of 5.1km, passes between Meda Gran and Meda Petita, with departure and arrival at Platja Gran de l’Estartit. The medium one, of 3.9km, consists of leaving Platja Gran, arriving at the end of Meda Gran and returning. And finally, the 1.7km baptism for those who want to be introduced to the world of crossings, leaving from Meda Gran and also arriving at Platja Gran de l’Estartit. In addition, the little ones also have a place with routes of 50, 100 and 200 meters.

Recovery of pre-covid participation

This edition of the race will feature international open water swimmers such as the four-time Spanish champion, Pol Gil ; the tenth-placed finisher in the World Championship, Guillem Pujol ; and the bronze medalist in the Spanish Championship, Eric Vilaregut.

The organization expects the event to recover the number of participants pre-covid with a forecast of more than 700 registrations. The 13th Neda el Món Illes Medes per la Marató de TV3 by ZOGGS was born to satisfy the solidarity aspect of Neda el Món. 23,415 euros have already been allocated to the Marató de TV3, focused this year on cardiovascular diseases.
