The beach surveillance service of the Torroella de Montgrí City Council will remain active during weekend hours on the Platja Gran de l’Estartit until October 12. Its hours are from 11am to 6pm continuously.
After the high tourist season, when the service is offered daily at Platja Gran, Mas Pinell and Cala Montgó , from September 16 it will only be provided at Platja Gran in l’Estartit on weekends. The lifeguard stations have amphibious chairs, crutches and elements to help people with reduced mobility enjoy the beaches.
Torroella i l’Estartit has over 5 km of fine, shallow sand, some of which are of high natural value and are practically virgin and very extensive. The most outstanding are Cala Montgó, Platja Gran, els Griells , la Pletera , la Gola, Mas Pinell and la Fonollera. To these we must add the small coves that can be reached after a walk or boat trip, along the Montgrí coast, where you can enjoy diving. The beaches of the municipality can accommodate an average of 40,000 daily users in high season.
