He recalled that the Fair is an ambitious commitment that was born to highlight local products, from Empordà, the Mediterranean diet and good eating habits, among other aspects linked to health. With everything we have been experiencing in recent years, this type of fair makes more sense than ever.

The Fair will start on Friday afternoon with a snack of local products in the Plaça de la Vila that will go hand in hand with a family performance by Jaume Ibars under the eloquent title ‚Let the party begin‘. On the same day, the Montgrí bats will be the protagonists with a workshop with family dynamics and games and a route to learn about this species

Wild plant workshops and a talk by Núria Picas

The characteristic wild plant workshops of the Fair will have a prominent space. Emporarom will offer a wild plant workshop on Friday and an infusion workshop and a condiment plant workshop on Saturday. One of the highlights of the Fair will be the talk that ultra-distance runner Núria Picas will offer on Saturday in the Auditorium of the Museum of the Mediterranean under the title ‚Now or Never‘, the same name as her latest book. The ultra-distance runner will address the great challenges she has faced in recent years, how to overcome failures with resilience and will reflect on sport, passion and dreams. Two ’showcookings‘ with fish and cuttlefish as protagonists

And at a fair like this, there could not be any ’showcooking‘. This year there will be two. The first will feature the catering collective that participates in the Gastronomic Days of Clova, Sèpia and Poma , one of the gastronomic campaigns that takes place in the municipality. This event will be presented by the actor, Marc Martínez , who has participated in several plays, films and television series, while also defining himself as a horticulturist. The second will be held by the Espai del Peix de Palamós with the fishermen’s guild of this port city and also of L’Estartit. This showcooking will feature the presence of the patron saint of the Fishermen’s Guild of L’Estartit, Joan Massaguer, the fishermen from Palamós Miquel Ferrés and Salvador Fortuny and members of the gastronomic collective ‚Màster Peix‘. A project that aims to turn people into prescribers of local fish species and traditional seafood cuisine. The ’showcooking‘ will have live cooking demonstrations and tastings of fresh fish.

Handicraft market and street entertainment

Between 10 am and 8 pm, Passeig Catalunya will have a local crafts and food market and also the Mercat Món Empordà, which takes place all year round on the fourth and fifth Saturday of each month. In two sessions, morning and afternoon, there will be street entertainment by the Traüt company.
