The Platja Gran Beach, the Tourist Office, the Museum of the Mediterranean and several establishments in Torroella and L'Estartit are recognized for promoting inclusive tourism

The Platja Gran Beach , the L’Estartit Tourist Office , the Mediterranean Museum , the Hotel Can Miquel , the Hotel Les Illes and the Mas del Llop Blanc have been recognized by the Baix Empordà Regional Council as promoters of Inclusive Tourism in the ceremony for the release of the district’s Accessibility Plan badges held this Tuesday at the Parc dels Estanys in Platja d’Aro.

The recipients of this project are all those public and private spaces that are part of the tourist offer of Baix Empordà and that want to improve their tourist accessibility, such as tourist offices, natural spaces, cultural resources, accommodation companies, restaurants or active tourism companies among others. The objective is to have a higher quality tourism open to everyone, also those people with reduced mobility or functional diversity, whether motor, sensory or intellectual.

Publication with proposals for inclusive tourism

In parallel with the awarding of badges, a publication was also presented that lists the tourist companies and services in the region that have participated in the Baix Empordà Tourist Accessibility Plan and that have passed the accessibility validation visit of their company or tourist service by a company specializing in tourist accessibility. The publication, published in Catalan, Spanish, English and French, brings together 31 diverse proposals for inclusive tourism: 1 campsite, 6 hotels, 5 museums, 8 tourist offices, 3 beaches, 3 historic centers, 2 itineraries, 1 rural tourism house, 1 bar and 1 leisure activities company. It will be distributed through the tourist offices and town halls of the region, and will also be available to the companies and services participating in the publication.
