This morning, the Pineda Park in l’Estartit reopened to the public after the comprehensive renovation and adaptation works carried out by the Torroella de Montgrí City Council.
The action was carried out within the framework of the Tourism Sustainability Plan of Torroella de Montgrí and l’Estartit , specifically within the line of action 1.2 Improvement of the urban landscape, and had a cost of 227,000 euros.
The park, with an area of 13,143 m2, located on the seafront, has been arranged and redistributed through a system of paths and different areas to stay. New trees have also been planted and the vegetation of the fragile dune front has been protected. Dúnia Oliveras , councilor for Tourist Destination and responsible for the sustainability plan, recalls that La Pineda is an emblematic space with great potential for use by the citizens and visitors of L’Estartit. However, until now it did not have a well-defined structure, so the City Council intends to enhance it, organize its uses, and improve its landscape and urban integration. The Sustainability Plan has made it possible to make a much-needed and long-awaited remodeling a reality. The identity and functionality of the space is formed from a main path, a central longitudinal axis, which organizes the different spaces for leisure, rest and contemplation: square, games area, petanque area, amphitheater and picnic area.
