The Torroella de Montgrí City Council has installed new children’s playgrounds on the Platja Gran de l’Estartit and Cala Montgó as part of the process of renewing services and urban furniture linked to the Tourism Sustainability Plan.
There are six playgrounds in total, four of which are already installed. Two are located in Cala Montgó. They are a balance game and a triple swing. Two more are located on Platja de l’Estartit, between the Lifeguard House and the Mini Beach Club located in the La Pineda area. They are a climbing pyramid and an educational board with letters. Finally, two other playgrounds similar to those in Montgó will be installed on Platja Gran de l’Estartit. The installation of these playgrounds is part of line 1 of the Tourism Sustainability Plan which advocates an improvement in the Tourist Offer. Specifically, action 1.1 to improve the quality of beaches and bathing areas. The project was awarded to Benito Urban.
In parallel with this urban improvement action and also within the framework of the Tourism Sustainability Plan, the Torroella de Montgrí City Council has installed two wooden bicycle racks on the Ter Vell Beach through the company FItor Forestal. Also in the area of the beach, the ropes and stakes that separate the sand from the parking lot, mark the paths and protect the coastal dunes have been renewed. The Tourism Sustainability Plan of Torroella de Montgrí and l’Estartit will be developed until 2024 with a budget of 3.6 million euros.
