Artisan and healthy food market

If ’showcookings‘ are the hallmark of the Empordà Cuina i Salut house, the local products market is another essential part of the event. On Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm, Passeig Catalunya will be filled with stalls selling km0 products and crafts. Saturday will coincide with the Món Empordà Ecological Market , which takes place every fourth and fifth Saturday of the month, and with the Botiga al Carrer, where you can find the latest trends this spring. To warm up the engines, on Thursday 27 April the talk „The Catalan triangle, travelling around the country on foot, by bike and by kayak“ has been scheduled, given by Joan Fernàndez Giner and Pere Llos Puig who will relate, accompanied by images, their personal experiences. The most informative part of the fair is covered with two talks. Workshops and activities for families

The Empordà Cuina i Salut Fair also has a good dose of activities aimed at a family audience. On Friday it opens with a popular snack at 5:30 pm in Plaça de la Vila followed by the street musical entertainment „Cassoles, olles i cançons“ by Carles Cuberes. On Saturday 29, the entertainment continues with the itinerant parades ‚Els Cuiners‘ in the morning and afternoon by Eventiart . As for the workshops, two workshops dedicated to the family audience have been organized, one on breakfasts and another on snacks in Plaça Mestre Pere Rigau, on Saturday at 10 am and 5 pm respectively. On Saturday morning, at 10 am in the same square, an apron painting workshop has been scheduled with the company La Xarranca. And also on Saturday at 5 pm in the same square there is an anchovy salting workshop. Sunday morning, the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park has organized a guided tour to discover the medicinal herbs of Montgrí. The Empordà Food and Health Fair has also planned a demonstration of local products on Friday the 28th at 8pm in the Plaça de la Vila. The products that can be tasted are those belonging to the new commercial development brand „És del Montgrí“ and which are exhibited in various shop windows in the town.

An opportunity to discover Torroella de Montgrí

The councilor for Fairs, Genís Pigem, has indicated that, „With this year’s edition, we are linking the fair with the unique project of the empty shop windows in the town centre that promote the food products of the municipality and the Natural Park. We are looking for synergies to offer an attractive proposal, which is at the same time practical and didactic, for both the local public and visitors.“ L’Empordà Cuina i Salut is a very good opportunity to discover Torroella de Montgrí and its old town. And the fact is that exhibitors, conferences, workshops, tastings and children’s shows mix with the active commercial life of Torroella and within the setting of its first-class historical and cultural heritage.
