Cala Montgó

The rocky coast of Montgrí is home to beautiful hidden coves. Some of these can only be accessed on foot through the mountains or by boat from the sea.

Cala Montgó: The most important geographical element of the entire Montgrí coast.

This cove is the most significant geographical feature of the entire Montgrí coast. Its round shape suggests it could be an ancient sunken cave, flooded and enlarged by sea water movements.

In Roman times, it served as a landing place, as evidenced by the remains found.

The cove is located 12 kilometres from L’Estartit by mountain paths and 20 kilometres by road. It can be accessed on foot, by car, or by boat.

The swimming area and sports zones are clearly marked with buoys.
