The Tourist Office of l’Estartit, the town beach, the Museum of the Mediterranean, and the La Pletera itinerary have been recognized for their promotion of inclusive tourism. The Terracotta Ceramics Museum of La Bisbal d’Empordà has hosted the presentation of the Baix Empordà Tourist Accessibility Plan badges, which have also recognized three establishments in the municipality.
For the third time, companies and tourist services that promote inclusive tourism in the region have received awards. There have been 32 proposals between leisure companies, bars, hotels, rural houses, museums, tourist offices, beaches, and itineraries.
In the case of Torroella de Montgrí and l’Estartit, l’Estartit Tourist Office, the Beach, the Museum of the Mediterranean, the La Pletera itinerary, the Hotel Can Miquel in Torroella de Montgrí, the Mas del Llop Blanc and the Hotel Les Illes of l’Estartit have received awards.
At the ceremony, each company and service received a certificate of recognition and a sticker that referred to the type of disability to which they had adapted their offer. Badges identify visual or hearing disabilities, wheelchair users, reduced mobility, or special needs for families.
Tourism for everyone in the Baix Empordà
All these companies and services that have the badge that identifies them as inclusive tourism-friendly are listed in a publication that can be found in tourist offices, town halls, companies, and tourist services in the region, as well as on a website. This publication is in Catalan, English, French, and Spanish.
