Presentation of Fimag 2023 with the Mayor of Torroella de Montgrí, Jordi Colomí; the vice-president of the Girona Provincial Council, Albert Piñeira; the director of the territorial services of Culture, Josep Calatayud; and the spokesperson for FIMAG, Abel Font. Fimag 2023 has scheduled around eighty magic sessions in 11 venues in Torroella de Montgrí. The town will once again be the world epicentre of magic on June 2, 3 and 4 in a Festival that is now in its 11th edition and which was presented in Girona this Tuesday.

The program has been divided into 3 areas: Great Magic, Singular Magic and Popular Magic and will have magicians from Catalonia, Russia, France, South Korea and Sweden. The Great Magic will bring to the stage of the Espai Ter the avant-garde of the sector with the genius of collective hypnosis Jeff Toussaint , the Great International Magic Gala and the media personality Jandro with his show Descabellado. A more irreverent and politically incorrect magic or, in short, more ‘goofy’ is reserved for the night time in the patio of the Clarisses. The Magician Ramó and Alejandro Barranco will perform.

Street magic and solidarity magic

Following the festival’s DNA of taking magic to the streets, spaces such as Plaça de la Vila, Passeig de Catalunya, Cinema Montgrí, the Convent of les Clarisses and Plaça Ernest Lluch will have outdoor magic acts. Under the heading of Singular Magic, you can see magic up close at Palau Solterra, Casa Galibern , in the La Tina auditorium of the Museu de la Mediterrània , in the courtyard of the old convent of Les Clarisses and on the stage of the Cine Petit. This year’s edition will also feature the Solidarity Gala at Espai Ter in collaboration with the Abracadabra Foundation. This is a performance for young people with functional diversity from various special education centers in the Girona Region.

Professional meeting point

Beyond entertainment and dissemination, FIMAG is also a professional meeting point for people who are dedicated to the show and programming. The FIMAGPro Professional Fair will have a technical and debate day on magic in Catalonia. Tickets for all paid shows can now be purchased on the Festival website at prices ranging from 19 to 28 euros for the ‘Gran Màgia’ shows and 4 euros for the ‘Màgia Singular’ and ‘Màgia Golfa’ shows.
