L’Estartit has everything ready to celebrate the Diada de Santa Anna , its summer festival this Friday, July 26. A day full of activities where tradition plays a prominent role. The day will begin at 10:30 am in the Church of Santa Anna with the traditional solemn mass accompanied by the Cobla Foment del Montgrí . A cobla that will be the protagonist of the double sardana dance that the Festa Major will have. The first one at 12 noon and the second one at 8 pm in the Plaça de l’Església. Between the mass and the first sardana dance , Les Veus de l’Estartit will do a tasting of tavern songs at 11:30 am in the same Plaça de l’Església
The Summer Festa Major will also have space for young people with an innovative and fresh proposal, organized by the Youth Area. The renovated Parc de la Pineda will host a musical picnic with sessions by Dj Ryna and Dj Tofu and the Cavall de Troia. It is a large-format dynamic sculpture, created by the artists’ collective la Llata, and which debuted at the Ítaca Sant Joan Festival with great acceptance. It is built on wheels so that it is mobile, with the intention of energizing events. Although the day of the Festa Major is Friday the 26th, Santa Anna had a preview this Saturday with the traditional Trobada Gegantera organized by the Colla Xiscu i Remei , and will also have an epilogue. On Saturday July 27th at 10 pm in Plaça Llevantina the Penya Barcelonista Montgrí i Comarca is organizing a Cantada d’Havaneres with les Anxovetes and Port Bo and popular cremat for everyone.
L’Estartit is in the middle of the tourist season and the town is bustling with activities. This past weekend a new and successful edition of the Beatles Weekend , the festival in tribute to the Beatles, was held and throughout the summer the sports activities of the Active Summer and the recreational and cultural activities of the Viu un Estiu de Colors are active. The season will end with the traditional Pirates and Corsairs Festival on the weekend of September 20 to 22. All the activities can be consulted at agendaestartit.com.
