Torroella and l'Estartit once again host the international grassroots football tournament MicFootball

The sports fields of Torroella de Montgrí and l’Estartit will once again be one of the official venues of the renowned MICFootball tournament, which will be held from 26 to 31 March 2024. Recognized as one of the most prestigious grassroots football tournaments in the world, MICFootball has as sponsors for this edition Oriol Romeu and Cata Coll , footballers from the first men’s and women’s teams of FC Barcelona . The 22nd edition of the international grassroots football tournament MICFootball (MIC – Mediterranean International Cup) will be held in 40 municipalities in the Girona region. It will do so with a record participation of 412 teams and with the presence of more fields than ever: 56. The more than 8,000 participating players, who will be divided into 9 categories, will play 1,012 matches.

Torroella de Montgrí and l’Estartit will host the matches of the U12A category

The U12A category matches will be played in Torroella de Montgrí and l’Estartit. 53 matches will be played in the municipality throughout the day. 28 teams will compete in the municipality, which will pass through the different fields in the area, of which 17 will be accommodated in 4 hotels in the municipality. This can be translated into more than 600 people staying, with more than 3,500 full pensions, which boosts the municipality’s tourism sector. In this edition, prominent teams such as FC Barcelona , ​​Real Madrid CF , Manchester United and City SC will pass through Torroella and l’Estartit, within the U12A category. The final phase matches will be played in the Torroella de Montgrí field and the consolation phase will be played in the l’Estartit field. The final of the U12A category will be played in the Figueres stadium, in Vilatenim.
