Torroella de Montgrí
When we reach the Church promenade, on the left we find the Palau Lo Mirador.
Catalan kings lived here, such as Juan I the Hunter, and the counts of Torroella de Montgrí.
Going up the promenade, on the right, a dirt path leads to a square. Here you can see a section of the old wall, recently restored.
At the end of the promenade is the Gothic church of Sant Genís. The church has a single nave with a seven-sided apse and side chapels. Construction began at the beginning of the 14th century.
We recommend that you go through the small portal on the right, leaving the church, and go to Plaça de l’Abat Oliba. From here you can admire the facade of the church of Sant Genís, which dates back to the Baroque period, from the 18th century. Notice that the bell tower is unfinished.
