This certification unifies three reference environmental regulations: the European Regulation EMAS 761/2001 and the UNE-EN ISO 14001 standard, from 2004, which ensure the preservation of the environment.

And the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2008 standard that ensures tourist quality and the satisfaction of beach users.

The Beach Quality Plan consists of 3 phases: In 2004, the Initial Environmental Assessment (AAI) study was carried out to identify all environmental incidents and promote a strategy for sustainable development.

In 2005, a management system was designed to apply good environmental practices and criteria of excellence to the beaches.

In 2006, the management system was implemented, revised and certified.
