The Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park, obtained, at the end of 2016, the prestigious European Charter for Sustainable Tourism, awarded by the EUROPARC Federation.

Torroella de Montgrí i l’Estartit has been a benchmark in sustainability and culture for the last 30 years. This fact is demonstrated by the granting by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Tourism Sustainability Plan with a global investment of 3.6 million euros for the project Torroella de Montgrí i L’Estartit: committed to quality, sustainability and culture 2021-2023.
It is recognized by international reference institutions such as the Green Destinations association with the Golden Awards and Best of Seasides 2019 certificate or with the Global Low-Carbon Ecological Scenic Spots award.
In late 2016, after two years of dedicated effort, the Natural Park obtained the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism, a prestigious distinction awarded by the EUROPARC Federation.
