Presentation within the framework of the Web Accessibility CourseThe Mediterranean Museum in Torroella de Montgrí hosted the closing ceremony of the course on accessible websites, organised by the Baix Empordà Regional Council together with the Torroella de Montgrí City Council. The aim of the training, which had 12 participants, was to inform the tourism sector about what an accessible website is and the steps to follow to make it accessible.

All websites must be accessible to everyone by law, including blind people, but unfortunately they are not. There are the WCAG 2.1 standards that must be followed to make a website accessible. These concepts have been covered during the course, as well as how to communicate in an accessible way in all the media that we usually use: word, pdf and social networks.

A course aimed at the tourism sector and technical staff of the public administration

Presentation within the framework of the Web Accessibility CourseThe course has been aimed at accommodation, activity and tourist service companies. Also at town halls and municipalities in the region. Since places have been limited, priority has been given to companies and technical staff from Torroella de Montgrí – l’Estarit. This training has been framed in the Baix Empordà Tourism Accessibility Plan that began in 2017. The main objective of this plan is to highlight the region as an accessible destination and generate a new differential and qualitative value in the tourist competitiveness offered by Baix Empordà.
