The Torroella de Montgrí City Council has implemented new information signage to highlight the main heritage and cultural elements of Torroella de Montgrí, especially the old town and shopping center.
22 spaces and 15 points of interest have been marked, using different elements: billboards, directional signs, totems and wall plaques.
The previous heritage signage was insufficient, incomplete and did not present a unified image. The new project has made it possible to update and modernize it, with the development of new analog and digital content. The new signage allows, as a whole, to explain very well, both to visitors and to the local population, the history of the town from different aspects. The new signage is based on various elements and supports in multiple sizes and variants, but under the same style book. Multilingual texts (Catalan, Spanish, English and French), old images (of a historical and informative nature), complementary information through QR (photo, audio, video), location of elements on the map, directionality, etc. have been incorporated. The action has been carried out within the framework of the Tourism Sustainability Plan of Torroella de Montgrí and l’Estartit (2021-2024), within the line of action 3.1 Valorization of the territory-Torroella de Montgrí.
