Motorized access to the Montgrí Massif has been closed due to the high risk of forest fires . This is a measure that is taken every year and will last, in principle, until the end of the summer season.
This measure aims to reduce the risk of a forest fire and ensure the safety of property and the protection of people living in areas near the forest. The Environmental Brigade has installed 8 mobile barriers, in addition to the fixed barriers that are already in place all year round. Information signs have also been placed at the main access points to the massif. Despite the traffic restrictions, the City Council will issue permits to people or residents who need to access it for reasons of residence or work. Violation of these restrictions may be sanctioned with fines.
