Visit to Escola Portitxol at the Tourist Office
Sixth grade students from the Portitxol School in l’Estartit visited the l’Estartit Tourist Office this Friday to learn firsthand about tourism and the importance it has for the municipality.
The visit was part of a project in which the children visited different actors involved in the tourism sector and received talks about its importance. From the hospitality sector, to tourist accommodation, to the business community that manages leisure activities and institutions. In parallel with class, they are working on what tourism is, how it works and what activities can be done by people who come to the town every year. The head of the Tourism Department of the Torreolla de Montgrí i l’Estartit City Council, Lídia Alonso , received the children and after a general explanation about what tourism is and how it is managed, she answered the questions they had. Among them, which nationality visits l’Estartit the most, what interests tourists have or which famous people spend their summers in the town, among others.
