L’Estartit celebrates 20 years of Beatles Weekend with two special guests from the Beatles’ inner circle

Pattie Boyd and Freda Kelly will join a special anniversary edition that turns L’Estartit into a meeting point for Beatles fans from around the world

From 9 to 12 July, L’Estartit will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Beatles Weekend, one of the most distinctive Beatles festivals in Southern Europe. For four days, the seaside town will be filled with live music, exhibitions, family activities and experiences inspired by the legacy of the legendary Liverpool band.

This anniversary edition will feature two exceptional guests closely linked to Beatles history: Pattie Boyd and Freda Kelly.

Pattie Boyd, renowned model and photographer, was married to George Harrison and became one of the defining figures of the Swinging Sixties. Freda Kelly worked alongside Beatles manager Brian Epstein and ran the band’s official fan club, maintaining direct contact with millions of fans during the height of Beatlemania.

Both guests will take part in a public talk and will attend the festival activities throughout the weekend, offering visitors a unique opportunity to connect with the living history of the Beatles.

Music, culture and family-friendly activities

The festival programme includes tribute concerts, exhibitions, talks, family activities, DJ sessions and special events across different locations in L’Estartit.

Highlights include Back to Abbey Road, a large-scale production by Rubber Soul featuring thirteen musicians performing the iconic Abbey Road album live, as well as concerts by The Flaming Shakers and Ambdós – Two of Us.

Visitors can also enjoy the traditional Abbey Road crossing photo opportunity, Beatles-themed storytelling sessions, karaoke, exhibitions, documentary screenings, vinyl talks and a wine tasting featuring wines from the Empordà region paired with Beatles songs.

Beatles music by the Mediterranean

With the Medes Islands, the Mediterranean Sea and the relaxed atmosphere of L’Estartit as its backdrop, the Beatles Weekend offers a unique combination of music, culture and holidays on the Costa Brava.

Over the past two decades, the festival has become a must-visit event for Beatles enthusiasts, attracting visitors from across Europe in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
