Ten diving centres on the Costa Brava, including eight at L’Estartit, were the first to receive an environmental badge for maritime activity centres.
This certificate rewards companies which minimise the impact of maritime leisure activities on natural ecosystems and promote respect and ecological concision.
The badge may be requested by companies who fulfil certain environmental quality criteria. Among them, promotion of the circular economy, conservation of the environment, optimal waste management, promotion of sustainable mobility, purchase and use of ecological products and energy and aquatic efficiency, among others.
The award-winning companies have been: Center d’Immersió Port de la Selva, Club Nàutic Port de la Selva, Oceansub–Estartit, Diving Center la Sirena, Medas Poseidon Diving Center, Start Derivada Diving Center, Unisub, El Rei del Mar, Costa Brava Divers and Medaqua.

During this event, the Catalan government presented the guide to good nautical and submarine practices. A publication with information about how to act responsibly during the practice of a maritime recreation activity.
