L’Estartit will host the Spanish Championship of Underwater Photography and Videography and Inclusive Underwater Photography from October 16th to 20th. Organized by FEDAS (Spanish Federation of Underwater Activities) and FECDAS (Catalan Federation of Underwater Activities), the competition will feature 46 teams and 90 athletes, including five inclusive teams.
The event will take place in the waters of the Medes Islands, with participants vying for the best underwater photos and videos. Competitors are divided into categories, with judges evaluating technical skill, composition, originality, and overall quality. Postproduction is limited, and referees will ensure that participants follow the rules.
Environmental Awareness
The Montgrí, Medes Islands, and Baix Ter Natural Park is involved in the event’s organization, ensuring respect for nature during the competition. Violations, such as aggressive techniques, may result in penalties or disqualification.
