The access by car or motorbike to the Montgrí Massif is closed all summer to prevent fires in a common action during the greatest fire risk time.
The Environment Brigade of Torroella de Montgrí City Council has installed 5 mobile barriers, 4 fixed barriers and information signs at the main accesses to the massif. Disobeying this ban can result in fines.
The Montgrí Massif is a fragile area of high ecological value and high risk of fire and is therefore constantly monitored by two cameras located in Rocamaura and Begur.
