The director of the Itaca Music Festival, Fran Arnau, has hoisted the Tourist Quality flag this Wednesday on the Platja Gran of L’Estartit in recognition for the contribution of this musical event to the promotion and cultural and economic development of the Torroella-L’Estartit-Medes Islands destination.
This flag is a recognition for the integrated management and environmental and tourist quality system of L’Estartit beach. A system that allows the monitoring of the different services that operate on the beach.
The flag is awarded by a tourist organization of Spanish Government after passing strict quality controls. This is the twelfth year that L’Estartit wins this certificate.
The mayor of Torroella, Jordi Colomí; the president of the descentralized local administration from l’Estartit (EMD), Francesc Ferrer and the councilor for Coastal Management, Marc Calvet, have presided the event with different technicians of local services.
Ten years of Itaca Music Festival
The Itaca Music Festival has celebrated its tenth anniversary this year and throughout this decade both Torroella and Estartit have been important stages in its programming. In fact, the Platja Gran of l’Estartit celebrates Saint John’s eve every year with three days of mass concerts under the title of Itaca Sant Joan.
