Torroella de Montgrí has started the beach monitoring and control service in the Platja Gran from 11am to 6pm.
Over the last few weeks, the municipal brigade has set up the beaches with all its services. Shock cleaning has been done, showers have been installed, and walkways of 100% recycled plastic materials have been installed.
Service on weekends and public holidays until June 15th
The lifeguard and surveillance service will be provided daily until next Easter Monday each day and then on weekends and public holidays until June 15th, when it will be daily again until the end of the summer season, the September 15th. Then it will be provided on weekends and public holidays until October 12th.
On July and August the service will be provided from 10:30 am to 7 pm.
Furthermore, lifeguards have amphibious chairs, crutches and items to help people with reduced mobility enjoy the beaches.
More than 5 km of beaches
Torroella and l’Estartit has more than 5 km of beaches with high natural value and practically virgin. The beaches of the municipality can accommodate in high season, an average of 40,000 daily users.
